Celebrating excellence in architecture from a global perspective, the International Architecture Awards have chosen the Mexico New International Airport as one of their winning projects this year.

Organised by the Chicago Athenaeum, in collaboration with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, and the Metropolitan Arts Press, the awards are the one of oldest and most prestigious distinguished international building awards programme that recognizes new and innovative international design.

A  jury composed of different recognized architects, designers, critics, and educators that worked remotely and shortlisted around 130 submissions from over 450 projects.

On September 10, the International Architecture Awards will inaugurate “The City and the World” an exhibition dedicated to the winning projects at The Contemporary Space in Athens. The exhibition will run until October 10.

Also, all the projects selected this year will be published in a special issue of Global Design + Urbanism XXI: “New International Architecture 2021.”
